I love poached fish or chicken, but I seem to do something wrong. I think I should have been starting with cold water instead of simmering. I am going to try your technique. And the leek sounds like a good idea also.

I am seriously obsessed with banana bread and I feel like I’ve tried every kind – except this one! These flavors look incredible! I mean, caramelized bananas?? That is an incredible concept!

The roasted bananas were definitely inspired by the recipe I found at halfbakedharvest--since then I've actually made variations that infuse coffee and kahlua into both the bananas and batter, so what I love about this recipe is how versatile it can be. Perfect title. However did you get the idea to cram so many scrumdiddlyumptious flavors into one loaf of bread?
I recently made some banaana chocolate chip muffins and thought they were missing something… I wonder how this recipe would translate to muffins. I’ll have to try that. ^_^

Trust me, my first sixth-grade screen name involved spelling “cool” as “cul”….my friends still laugh like crazy when they see me using it! You’re always SO welcome here to ‘live vicariously’ (although I’ve learned the tough way that grad school definitely isn’t just a matter of poring loftily over books); goodness knows I spend enough time drooling over your photos–and apparently you’ve authored a book?! (Sorry, it just occurred to me to read your About page, haha!). Writing a children’s book is on my bucket list, for sure. As for teaching, I LOVE teaching and I think it’s one of the most important jobs, ever, period. That being said, my dream job is to work for Disney and/or in a children’s literature + media place, but I think I’ll have it figured out by the time I finish the program in a few more years. (Whew, that was a long reply–any longer and I think an email will be in order! Hah! I love hearing about your experiences though, they sound crazy exciting!!)
