So I’ve been working on a pet project recently that finally launched at the start of this month and am so excited to announce…
I’m delivering care package orders!
The pilot, which I’m running through May, is mainly local for now (meaning many of the lucky customers are my friends, or friends of friends). I have to admit, I was floored by how modestly well the order delivery is going! It’s probably just about as much as I can handle at this busy crossroads in between my conference research, prospectus work, blogging, and other exciting developments around here, so this month of deliveries has been perfectly timed.
I thought it would be fun to show you guys what I’ve been up to, introduce you to some of my awesome customers, and give you a sneak peek at some of the fun recipes to look out for in the coming weeks (and trust me, you WON’T want to miss these!). And best of all, if you get hungry while reading and are eligible for local pick-up (or if you must have a mail order for a special occasion only), you can order your own care package!
By the way: all of these testimonials below were completely unsolicited (i.e. all happy WG customers volunteered their opinions!).
(Disclaimer: My care package order system does not make up a significant portion of my income from blogging–it is an independent project for my own recreation, and was started at the request of many local friends and acquaintances. Thanks!)
My very first in-person delivery happened before I started completing orders, but I wanted to include it because it was one of my favorite deliveries to fulfill for the winner of a giveaway. You can read about K and her story here, and snag the recipe for this gorgeous cupcake while you’re at it…

My first official delivery came from a good friend who had just returned from Hawaii (jealous! I wouldn’t mind some fresh coconut cake right now) and ordered a batch of one of my favorite brownies that I will be guest posting for a really fantastic blogger friend of mine on Tuesday (so don’t miss it!!):
Do you ever make a bunch of cupcakes or cookies and find that you have way too much sitting around your kitchen? I know this happens to me all the time–it must be the ambitious marathon baker in me…
To solve this “problem,” one package I offer (and my personal favorite) is the “Surprise Me! Assorted Sweet Treats,” which is probably the best deal on my order form–$10 for a sizeable box of many fantastic goodies!
One Crazy Good, No-Frills Biscoff Ice Cream Recipe: Coming soon! (Hint: Subscribe to my email list so you don’t miss it.)
My other awesome friend M was celebrating her anniversary with her boyfriend, also M, so I decided to make them Two-Toned Red Velvet Chocolate Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting for their surprise package.
This week, I also received quite a few requests for my vegan healthy recipes, which makes me so excited because in case you didn’t know, I am currently obsessed with raw/no-bake/vegan sweet treats. Two lovely gals, J and E, picked up their deliveries this week.
Hot Chocolate Larabars: Coming soon! (Hint: Follow Wallflour Girl on your RSS feed so you don’t miss it.)
I adore this selfie E took of herself and her larabars so much! Thanks, E!
I still have 5 orders waiting to be completed by the end of the month. Luckily, doing custom orders allows me to keep creating recipes without having to worry about “pawning” them off to folks (to the detriment of my emaciated wallet), so I’m super stoked that this is finally happening. This is kind of the dream. Thank you to all my beautiful friends and readers who have been ordering!
I’ve even gotten emails asking when I’m going to start mail delivery! What do you think? Would you be interested in ordering care packages for yourself or for friends/special occasions?
Are you a friend of Ala’s or within pick-up distance? Do you love drooling over food photos or need to get your friend a fun gift? Customize your own care package order today!
