Ann, it was so much fun to meet you as well! I’m a total children’s lit junkie and it’s amazing to hear about your grandma’s book club–you should most definitely use that as inspiration to pen a children’s book. We need more daring authors putting out good content, especially former educators who are right in there working with kids every day! Haha! I study wars, specifically civil wars. So my subfield has two types of people: the kind that want to save the world but are ultimately jaded, and the kind that really just want to remain relevant so they secretly hope that the issue doesn’t go away. Sad but true…

You would have LOVED it, Nancy–I actually met up with a few folks from Vancouver who had been at the UBC conference, so there were reps from your neck of the woods.
